The Majestic Sleeping Lady Mountain |
And here I was (at last after hundred days of war) standing on my precious glimpsed to
the lady laid sleeping from distant afar. It was a glorious and exquisite
sight in the cold morning where the rays of the sun banquet to her majesty’s realm as the blanket of mists in sight kisses over the green fields. But behind its serenity and silence were the
vestiges of war in her once great city called Marawi. Hundred days of horrors
hunted the conurbation of Ranao by the terror’s; cries of the innocents, fears of
the victims, the howls of struggle to survive – were all soundly depicted as I stand
before the lady.
View of Marawi City from a distant far War ( Dec.1, 2017) |
Daily lives amongst the townspeople nearby shifted
tremendously - from busy into empty, from hectic into unhurried, and from
traffic into decongest. Day or night, you could still hear two or three bombs or
explosive devices being detonated. You could still see and hear drones and planes
on surveillance operation watching like a hawk.
where the beds of mist met the green fields |
Never in history of Marawi meet great natural calamities. But
in the hands of the extremists met the most terrible bedlams and chaos. In spite of all these tribulations, the folks remain hopeful. Never lose heart
to stand from tumble. The promise of putting up their lives back again is what keeps
them going. In time, Marawi will rise up in peace, and the city will be great
once more. After all, Marawi is my home, where my heart simply belong.
